Cheap tour prices often hide extra costs that can double your final bill. To avoid surprises, always check if these 5 items are included before booking:

  • Entrance & Sightseeing Fees: Many budget tours exclude the official Halong Bay sightseeing tickets. Ask if these are pre-paid.

  • Outdoor Activities: Kayaking or bamboo boat rowing are often listed as "optional" and charged separately.

  • Beverages: Most tours provide only one bottle of water. Sodas, beer, and cocktails on board are sold at premium prices (200% - 300% higher than land stores).

  • Transfers: Double-check if the price includes "Port Pickup" or Return Shuttle from/to Haiphong or Hanoi or Ninh Binh". Some cheap deals only cover the boat trip itself.

  • Service Charge & Gratuities: While tipping is optional in Vietnam, some operators might apply a mandatory service fee at the end of the trip.

Expert Tip: Always ask for an "All-in price" list in writing. If a deal looks too good to be true, it’s likely because the essentials aren't included.
