I’ll be visiting Halong Bay on a cruise and plan to go ashore.
I feel like it’s quite straightforward, but I’ve also heard some people had unexpected issues.
What do people usually misunderstand about this stop?

Many passengers think getting off the ship is instant, but it’s not actually 😀

Disembarkation usually happens in waves, especially when multiple ships arrive. You might need to wait before being allowed to leave the ship

Another misunderstanding is assuming the port area is small. In reality, it can take 10 minutes just to walk from the ship to the main gate or 5 mins by free shuttle.

it’s easy to explore but things take a bit more time and flexibility than expected
