I’ll be in Halong Bay this upcoming holiday with my kid, and she's really excited about seeing monkeys.
I’ve heard that you can see, feed monkeys in the bay.
Where is the best place for this, and what should I prepare?
Thanks a lot!
You can sometimes see monkeys around the entrance area of Luon Cave. They occasionally come down closer to where boats or kayaks pass by, but it’s not guaranteed every time
People usually bring small snacks or fruit to feed them. I’d keep expectations flexible. Sometimes they’re there, sometimes not
You’ll see quite a few people kayaking closer to the cliffs to get near the monkeys.
But if you’re traveling with kids, I’d honestly recommend staying on a bamboo boat instead, much safer and more stable
Monkeys can get competitive over food. I’ve seen them grab things quickly or snatch from each other, so keep a bit of distance, especially with children
Honestly, even just seeing them in their natural environment is already a great experience.
Feeding them is fun, but safety should come first, especially with younger kids
