I’m planning a day trip to Halong Bay, but I’ve heard it can get really crowded.
Is that true?
Are there any alternative routes or cruises that avoid the main tourist crowds?

Yes, the classic Halong Bay day route can get quite crowded.
Most cruises follow the same itinerary:
- Thien Cung cave
- Sung Sot Cave
- Titov Island
- Luon Cave
So both day cruises and overnight boats end up at the same spots
If you want something quieter, look into newer or alternative routes.
There is luxury day cruise now exploring less common areas like Me Cung Cave, pearl farms, Trinh Nu Cave
