Is a 2D1N cruise in Halong Bay actually enough, or is 3D2N worth it?

Hi all,

I’m trying to decide between a 2 day 1 night and a 3 day 2 night cruise in Halong Bay.

Most itineraries look quite similar on paper, but the price difference is pretty significant.

For those who’ve done it:
- Did you feel rushed on a 2D1N cruise?
- Is the extra day on 3D2N actually worth it, or just more of the same?

I don’t mind spending more if it really adds to the experience, but I also don’t want to pay extra for something repetitive.

Would love to hear your honest thoughts!

Did 2D1N and honestly felt a bit rushed.
You arrive around noon, do a few activities, then next morning you're already heading back.
If you have the time and budget, I’d go 3D2N.

One thing people don’t mention enough:
On 3D2N, you usually switch to a smaller day boat on day 2, which feels way more relaxed.
That alone made it worth it for me.

keep in mind that kayaking's banned in Lan Ha. So go for Bai Tu Long instead

I think it also really depends on your energy level and who you're traveling with.

By day 2, with the sea breeze, sun, and all the activities (kayaking, swimming, moving around the boat), you do start to feel a bit worn out.

If you're traveling with seniors or kids, 2D1N is probably the safer and more comfortable option.

3D2N is great, but not everyone actually needs that much time out there.
